Additional Round of Catholic School Closings & Mergers Proposed
On January 12th, 2009, the Diocese of Brooklyn proposed closing the following schools in Brooklyn at the end of the current (2008/2009) school year:
- Flatbush Catholic Academy
- St. Vincent Ferrer
- Most Precious Blood
- St. Elizabeth Ann Seton
- Our Lady of Perpetual Help
- Our Lady of Angels
Additionally, the following school mergers are proposed:
- In Windsor Terrace: merge Immaculate Heart of Mary and Holy Name, new campus at Holy Name.
- In Williamsburg: Northside Academy, St. Stanislaus Kostka Ss. Joseph and Dominic Academy, St. Nicholas. to merge in 2010/2011, number of campuses and their locations to be determined.
